Q: What is the SOMA Artists Studio Tour?

A: The townships of South Orange and Maplewood are home to a vibrant community of artists who live, work and play all within a short distance of New York City, the capital of the art world. The South Orange Maplewood (SOMA) Artists Studio tour was initiated in 2003 by volunteers, to celebrate the artists among us and to help make local art available to all. A: The 2023 SOMA Studio Tour is FREE!

Q: Where can I get a Physical Tour Map?

A: Maps are available at the Preview Show at the 1978 Gallery, local businesses & artist’s studios.

Q: When is the tour? How long does it last?

A: Two Days. Saturday, November 4th & Sunday, November 5th, 2023, 11am – 5pm

Q: Are ALL artist studios open both days?

A: NO, Some artists are only open one day. Check the artist’s profiles or map for details

Q: How do I get all the names and addresses of artist locations?

A: The names and addresses of artist locations are available on our online map, the printed tour guide, and individual artist profiles.

Q: Do I need to purchase tickets/is there a cost to attending the tour?

A: There is no cost to attend the tour, and no tickets to obtain.

Q: How can I find out more about individual artists?

A: Our Artist Directory offers detailed profiles of each artist and gallery on tour.

Q: What are the regions for the tour?

A: The townships of South Orange and Maplewood.

Q: How does an artist get on tour?

Q: How can I support the Studio Tour?

The 2023 SOMA Studio Tour is fully volunteer supported and directed! Your support goes a long way. We are always looking for Volunteers & can use Financial Support.
