John Sahin is a Turkish-born Concept Artist and Art Educator based in SOMa. In addition to teaching the next generation of artists at One River School in Millburn, John has produced production art for a variety of film projects and games, including A Race to the Reckoning Docuseries and HBO’s Barney’s World.
As a voracious reader and lover of all cinema, he strives to pull real-world research into every project, no matter how fantastical the subject matter. John draws inspiration from a diverse range of sources, including Neolithic cave paintings, mechanical schematics and the great illustrators of the 20th century and today, namely Jean “Moebius” Giraud, Kim Jung-Gi and Eyvind Earle. Never without a sketchbook, he spends his days collecting images, hoping to apply his observations to future world building. From the breezy streets of Venice to his own sofa, the sound of a scratching pencil is John’s constant companion.
