STATEMENT:
A painting can function as a haunted object, a vessel of the past reverberating through the present.
These paintings have their own life. They are the product of intuition over formula. I take anything I’ve accumulated over the years through my mind’s eye and apply it to material use, all the while adhering to a certain level of bewilderment.

BIOGRAPHY:
John Di Lorenzo is an artist based in South Orange, New Jersey. He maintains a rigorous studio practice at his home there where he resides with his wife and two sons. Besides being a working and exhibiting artist, Mr. Di Lorenzo is also an art educator with NYC public schools; a career he has held for the past 23 years. He will be showing at the Skate House, 5 Mead Street, in South Orange.
