About

Anya Ellia is a long-time resident of Maplewood, New Jersey. She has always found peace and inspiration in the beauty of the town, and through her latest series of watercolors, she has brought this together with her eye for color and passion for painting. Anya hopes that these works will bring a vibrant and personal touch to the homes of neighbors and art lovers.
In addition to the watercolors, Anya is working on a collection of upcycled dresses made from men’s shirts called Dress#. The pieces are hand-painted, hand-embroidered, and each one is completely unique.
Anya is a professionally trained artist, designer, and educator. She studied at the School of Art Institute of Chicago and New York School of Interior Design. She has a master of fine arts from the St. Petersburg Academy of Applied Arts. Anya owned an interior design business, decorating local homes for over 15 years. In 2015, Anya was inspired by her daughter to open an art and design school. Since then, she has worked to educate and pass on her love of art to kids, teens and adults in the community.
